I wanted a piece of nice-looking furniture to put my two cages in so I got a friend to build one for me!! It’s made of pine, stained with a color mixture of cherry and chocolate shades, and finished with many layers of semi-gloss which we made sure to confirm was safe for the birds. The cabinet doors latch closed with door magnets from home depot. I bought noise-stifling, light-blocking curtains from Bed, Bath & Beyond to cover them up with at night, and I hang them with magnets that are glued to the inside of the hutch and on the curtains themselves – easy to take on and off without scaring my skiddish Indian Ringneck. I sowed some fabric together to drape over the top of the hutch as well, then sowed in a thin wood dowel that I use to pull the top curtain on and off. You can’t see them too well in the video, but there are also little seed catchers on the sides. I have a table-cover underneath the cages to prevent scraping. I bought leaf door handles to match the leaf border at the top. Then I got a large piece of fabric with leaves and flowers on it and we wrapped it around a thin, square piece of plywood to fit into the background of the hutch – makes it look that much prettier AND makes my birds’ worlds much more colorful 
The birds love it and so do I!
I made this cage for the two lovebird ; Sweet Sweet(male) and Olive(female) Both seem to like it so far. At the moment it looks a little empty. I will put in more toys soon… If you have any suggestions please let me know.
